Let’s learn some useful idioms!
Throw your hat into the ring
To tell people that you want to be involved in something
Seven different employees threw their hat into the ring to organize the office party
Come out swinging
To react to or begin something quickly and aggressively
The prime minister came out swinging in his first speech of the year
Have someone in your corner
To have someone who is supporting you and giving you encouragement
I’m glad I had my colleagues in my corner when my boss was shouting at me
