My Upcoming Travel Plans
Hello again everyone,
With Tom’s episode all about happiness and the Conversation Club this week mirroring that topic, I got thinking about some of the things that make me happy. On the whole, I am a pretty happy person, but I don’t want to use this week’s post to talk about what makes me happy and about happiness in general, perhaps I will at some point, but instead I wanted to focus on one thing that does make me happy.
That Thing is Travel.
This year I haven’t done too much travelling but I do have some plans. Next month I will be taking a short trip to Belgrade in Serbia. Belgrade is a city I have been to twice before, but only for a very short period, this time I’ll have a little more time to explore.
I am really looking forward to my trip, as both previous visits were in the Winter when it was cold, dark, cold, wet, cold, and grey, and very, very cold.
This time it will be in the middle of Spring and the whole city should have a slightly different feel to it. I hope at least.
Next up on my list is a trip to Lisbon in Portugal. A friend of mine is getting married and for his stag do, we are all going to Lisbon for a weekend in May. I am thinking of arriving a few days earlier in order to spend some time in Portugal and to do some exploring.
I have never been to Portugal, but it is a country I have been thinking, and hearing, more and more about recently. So many people I know seem to have so many good things to say about it. From what I have heard, it seems like a country that I would like. So I am excited.
With these two trips both being absolute certainties, I also have a potential visit to Istanbul on the cards, which is another place I am very keen to see for the first time.
I feel as though I am an incredibly lucky person, that I’m in a position to be able to feasibly plan multiple trips in a single year, and I’m looking forward to sharing my travels with everyone who reads my blog.
So, look out for some articles about the places I visit in the future!
That’s it for this week.
Thomas
