In our March Thinking in English conversation clubs, weโ€™ll explore the environment, Europe, British culture, and the experience of living and working abroad. I think these are perfect topics for practicing opinion-based language, comparisons, storytelling skills, and practical communication.

As always, every Conversation Club session includes:

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s coming up in March 2026.

March Conversation Club Topics

Each week, we focus on a different theme designed to encourage natural conversation, opinion sharing, and real-life English use. As always, Iโ€™ll prepare discussion questions, useful vocabulary, and example answers before each session.

March Conversation Club Schedule!

Week 1: Environment & The Tragedy of the Commons

Tuesday & Thursday: March 3 & 5

We begin with a fascinating and important topic: how we share and protect common resources. Weโ€™ll discuss:

  • What is the โ€œTragedy of the Commonsโ€?
  • Why do environmental problems happen?
  • Who is responsible for protecting the planet?
  • Can individuals really make a difference?

This session is great for practising cause-and-effect language, expressing responsibility, and debating solutions.

Week 2: ย Letโ€™s Discuss Europe!

Tuesday & Thursday: March 10 & 12

Europe is diverse, complex, and constantly changing. This week weโ€™ll explore:

  • Cultural differences across Europe
  • Politics, history, and identity
  • Travel experiences and stereotypes
  • The future of European cooperation

I think this is a perfect topic for sharing personal experiences and practising comparisons between countries and cultures.

Week 3: Culture & The UK

Tuesday & Thursday: March 17 & 19

This week, weโ€™ll focus on British culture. Discussion topics include:

  • Traditions and social customs
  • British humour and communication styles
  • Regional differences within the UK
  • Common stereotypes (and whether theyโ€™re true!)

If youโ€™re interested in studying, working, or travelling in the UK, or you want to understand British English better, this session will be useful.

Week 4: Living, Travelling, & Working Abroad

Tuesday & Thursday: March 24 & 26

We finish March with one of the most popular Conversation Club themes. Weโ€™ll talk about:

  • Culture shock
  • The challenges of working in another country
  • Why people choose to move abroad
  • Language learning through immersion

This session is perfect for storytelling, sharing advice, and practising real-life conversational English.

Conversation Club Times (UK Time)

All Conversation Clubs run at the same weekly times:

Tuesdays & Thursdays

  • 12:00 UK time
  • 18:00 UK time
  • 23:00 UK time

You can join one session or all six each week, depending on your schedule and goals.

Each session lasts around 60 minutes and takes place in small groups of 3โ€“4 learners, supported by trained English tutors (and me!).
