What is Patreon?
Patreon is a membership platform that allows creators like me to offer extra content and benefits to supporters. You subscribe to a tier, and in return you get exclusive content, community access, and other rewards.
Is Patreon safe and secure?
Yes. Patreon handles all payments securely and protects your information. I never see your full payment details.
Do I need a Patreon account to join?
Yes. You will need to create a free account to subscribe to a tier and receive benefits.
What currencies does Patreon accept?
Patreon supports many global currencies, including GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AUD, and more. This means you don’t pay complicated exchange fees.
Can I access my Patreon benefits on my phone?

How do I join the Thinking in English Patreon?
- Go to the Patreon page
- Select your tier (English Listener, English Learner, or English Master)
- Create a Patreon account
- Choose monthly or annual payment
- Complete checkout
- You’ll receive immediate access to your benefits.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or switch tiers at any time in your Patreon settings.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There is no contract or minimum commitment. When you cancel, you keep your benefits until the end of your billing cycle.
What happens if I upgrade mid-month?
Patreon only charges you the difference between your old tier and the new tier.
If I downgrade, does it change immediately?
No. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You keep your higher-tier benefits until then.
Do I lose access immediately if I cancel?
No. You keep full benefits until the end of the month (or year if you paid annually).
Can I switch between monthly and annual membership?
You can switch from monthly to annual. You change your billing frequency in your account settings.
Do you offer refunds?
Patreon generally does not offer refunds unless there is a billing error.

When will I be charged?
You are charged immediately when you join, and then on the same day every month.
Do you offer annual memberships?

Can I change my payment method?

Can I try Conversation Clubs before joining?

Conversation Clubs
What are Conversation Clubs?
Weekly small-group speaking sessions for English practice. You join a room of 3–4 learners and speak with trained English tutors.
How many clubs are there each week?
Six sessions every week:
- Tuesday: 12:00, 18:00, 24:00 (UK)
- Thursday: 12:00, 18:00, 24:00 (UK)
Do I need to book in advance?
No booking required. Just show up!
Is the camera required?
No. Cameras are optional (but recommended).
How long are the sessions?
Sessions usually last 50–60 minutes.
What English level do I need?
Most learners are B1+ to C1. Motivated intermediate learners do very well.
What if I’m shy or nervous?
Totally normal! The clubs are friendly, relaxed, and supportive.
How many people are in each group?
Usually 3–4. Small enough for everyone to talk.
Where do the clubs happen?
On Discord, in the “Conversation Club” voice rooms.
Can I join all six clubs?
Yes. Attend as many as you want.
What if I can’t join every week?
No problem. Join whenever your schedule allows.
Do you give feedback during clubs?
It depends. Tutors are present to help you with vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and natural expressions. However, they will move around the rooms. If you want consistent feedback, consider a class/course with Peter.

Yes! Over 170 bonus episodes are available immediately.
Discord Community
What is Discord?
A free platform for text, voice, and video chat. Our community uses it for conversation clubs, study groups, and discussion channels.
Do I need Discord to join Conversation Clubs?
Yes. That’s where the sessions are hosted.
Is Discord difficult to use?
No, but if you’re new, I provide full instructions after you join Patreon.

Can I use Discord on my phone?

1–1 Conversations (Master Tier)
What happens in a private session?
You can:

How long is the session?
At least 60 minutes.
When do these sessions take place?
You book them directly with Tom after joining. They take place on Zoom. Tom’s schedule is relatively open and flexible.
Can I join the Master tier just for one month?
Yes. There’s no minimum commitment. However, the spaces are limited.
Technical Questions
I’m having trouble accessing Thinking in English bonus podcast episodes on Spotify.
Make sure your Patreon email matches your Spotify email, then reconnect the integration.
I can’t access the Thinking in English Discord.
Check your Patreon settings → “Apps” → Connect Discord. Make sure your Patreon membership is active. Or message me for help.
