Donald Trump, new president of the USA, has publicly stated he wants the US to take over control of the Panama Canal.
The canal is incredibly important – it connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, allowing thousands of ships to cross the Americas quickly and efficiently.
Today, I’d like to take a look at the history of the Panama Canal. We’ll discuss why it was built, who built it, and why the US is involved in Panama!
