There are so many amazing podcasts released every day. From celebrity interviews and famous comedians, to informative historical shows, self-help gurus, and even podcasts specifically for English learners (like Thinking in English).
These podcasts offer an excellent opportunity for people wanting to practice their listening, but how can you make the most of listening? How can you turn your passive listening into active English learning?
This is why I have made this “Podcast Listening Companion”!
It is designed for self-study, to help you consider the information you hear in podcasts, comprehend the content, and learn new vocabulary. It will work for any podcast or even YouTube videos, TV shows etc.
There are 4 sections:
1. A section for taking notes while listening to the podcast episode
2. A comprehension section with 3 tasks to make you think about the content and write it down in your own words
3. A self-reflection section with 3 tasks to help you reflect on your listening experience, evaluate what was challenging, and think about how you can improve your listening comprehension going forward.
4. A vocabulary section with space for you to write down new words/phrases, find their meanings using dictionaries, and write down example sentences!
This podcast companion comes as a PDF for printing out and as a fully editable Word file for using on your computers/devices!
