The final Film Club of the year will take place on December 13th at 19pm UK time!

And as it is now December, Peter has chosen the theme… Christmas Movies!

Peter has selected 4 iconic Christmas movies, and now it is up to you to vote for the movie you would like to watch and discuss.

What is the Thinking in English Film Club?

The Film Club is a great opportunity for Thinking in English Patreon members to practice their conversational English by discussing a film with other members.

In each session we will talk about one film, please try to watch it before attending! Just like in the normal Conversation Clubs we will provide 10 questions about the film to help to inspire you.

Thinking in English Patreon members (English Learner, English Lover, English Master) are free to attend the film club!

Christmas Movies To Choose From!

It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

Possibly the most important Christmas film ever. This is a story about a man going through a very difficult time and contemplating suicide. The film is an exploration of the value of life, it is loosely based on Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.

Love Actually (2003)

A modern British classic. This is a fun but tender film that makes people laugh and cry. It follows several different love stories around the UK at Christmas time. The different stories seem to be independent but overlap in interesting ways.

Die Hard (1988)

People always argue about whether this classic action film is really a Christmas film or not. Bruce Willis stars as an off-duty police officer who must defend a large office building from a terrorist attack during a Christmas party.

Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

This film is about an old man (Kris Kringle) who claims to be the real Santa Claus. Of course no one believes him but one sceptical girl and her mom work with Kris to prove it is true. The story shows the magic of belief and the true spirit of Christmas, spreading joy and kindness.
