This bonus episode was originally released in 2022, when I only had around 20 Patreon subscribers.
Now, there are a lot more of you, and I wanted you all to benefit from the information in this episode. I introduce an excellent and simple strategy to master self-introductions.
And as we have quite a few new members who joined over the past few weeks, I’d like you to practice writing your own introduction in the comments!

Hello everyone, my name is Ingrid, and I’m economist, and I have two master’s degree in subjects related to economical aspects. I worked in Price Waterhouse for 8 years, and until 2022, I was financial manager of a dealer’s group of automotive.
I am specialized in supporting to business management focuses to economic-financial feasibility and plans to business restructuring, in general this can include Merge and Acquisitions (M&A), Due diligence, restructuring division or business.
I’ve always been working in Spanish-speaking countries, but I love languages, and now I’d like to live and work in some European country where people speak English (Netherlands, Switzerland, etc.).
I am married and I´ve got 2 daughters and 2 own grandchildren and other 4 grandchildren from my husband, and now another one is coming.
As a person with inquisitiveness, eager to learn and develop new skills, I´m excited for learning definitively English and hopefully I can use this platform, Thinking in English, to improve my English, and to make real progress towards my new project; to open the door for new languages, like German, Dutch, maybe French, and go on.
If I achieve my first goal, I’d like to use all my knowledge and background in non-profit organizations, in something useful for others.
Excellent Ingrid! Learning a new language after English is a good goal. And maybe if Thinking in English grows bigger we can use your experience in business management haha
Hi, I’m Francesco and I’m an Italian captain working in the pleasure yachting industry. I’m both qualified for sail and motor yacht until 24 meters length. Most of my thirty years sail’s experience is it in the Mediterranean Sea but I have been in Atlantic too with an ocean passage.
I’m considering the possibility of taking on a new project where I can put my professionalism and enthusiasm for this job to good use.
Hi Tom, what do you think about?
Hello everyone, I’m Paolo, 51 years old, from Italy. I work as a lawyer for an Italian government agency attending on transports safety. I’m married with two children, a fourteen years boy and a three years little girl.
My background is in law, but before working as a lawyer in my ongoing job, which is started 8 years ago, I had a 18 years experience as human resources manager for the University of Pisa (Italy).
I’ve joined just today to the Thinking in English community as “English learner” to enjoy the extra resources offered to the subscribers. I’ve been listening to the podcast since the begin of the last year. I’m trying to improve my English not exclusively due to my job, but for many other else reasons, as keep my brain active, make friendship on holiday abroad and, occasionally, to give correct information to foreigners in Florence, the city where I work… I wouldn’t like to send them in the opposite side of the city 😉
Hello, my name is Arto. I am a principal lecturer in (I prefer not to mention this publicly). My duty in this project is to enhance our RDI capability by writing and editing a handbook about innovative development work methods.
My background is in social sciences and I’ve led plenty of development work projects which usually have somehow been connected to the inclusion of excluded people back to empowered members of society.
For this meeting, I hope to open ideas sharing, like what methods should be presented in the book, how to connect with commercial publishers, and of course, any comment on the content of the book.
