Every week I run a variety of different Patreon events for my Patreon members. These are opportunities to practice English, improve your comprehension, and meet other Thinking in English listeners and some amazing English tutors as well!
This week we will be “debating” in our Conversation Clubs, as well as talking all things film and TV in the Wednesday Film Club. There will also be some events organised by Patreon members to give everyone extra opportunities to practice their English.
All events take place on the Thinking in English Discord server. Keep an eye on Discord events and Patreon for the most up to date information.
Become a Patreon subscriber (English Learner tier or higher) to attend all of these amazing events and support Thinking in English!
Events This Week
Conversation Club
This week the ‘Thinking in English’ Conversation Club is asking debate-style questions!
This Conversation Club theme was inspired by last week’s podcast episode – 311. How to Debate in English?
Debating is an important part of our society. Debating important issues is a good way to challenge our own beliefs and to learn about different perspectives and views.
Some of the questions this week are classic debates that people have been having for decades or even centuries, other top debates focus on our ever-changing modern world.
We publish a Conversation Club preparation article every week, with example questions, vocabulary lists, and model answers:

Conversation Club Time
Tuesday 12pm, 18pm and 21pm (UK time)
Thursday 12pm and 18pm (UK time)
Film Club
Every Wednesday Thinking in English listeners gather to talk about movies, TV shows, and everything in-between at our weekly film club.
The film club is an excellent opportunity to talk about something you enjoy in English every week. Maybe you have a specific movie you really want to chat about or you are looking for recommendations for English language TV shows!
The session is run by Peter, a wonderful English teacher who LOVES films!
Wednesday 18pm (UK Time)
Member Organised Events
There are also events organised by Patreon members so they (and you) can have more opportunities to practice English and immerse yourself in the language.
This week there is already one event scheduled by members.
On Tuesday at 14:30 (UK Time) some of our amazing Patreon members will be meeting to talk about the TV Show Black Mirror. This is a relatively regular event, so if you like Black Mirror you should join to talk about it in English!
Also, there are usually 1 or 2 other events scheduled – keep an eye on Discord for the most up to date event information.
