With the recent news that Oasis are reuniting after 15 years for a massive world tour next year, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to discuss the music and culture of Britpop.
We’ll talk about why Britpop was a uniquely British music genre and a reaction to the music coming out of the United States. We’ll discuss the history of the movement, its characteristics, and its major bands. And we’ll end by thinking about Britpop’s lasting legacy!
