One of the first podcast episodes I ever recorded was on the topic of citizenship.

At the time, over 4 years ago, citizenship was kind of my speciality. I had written extensively about citizenship in Asian countries during my master’s degree and had been awarded a scholarship to research citizenship (specifically “local citizenship”) in Japan by the Japanese government.

Recently, citizenship has been in the news. Donald Trump has issued an executive order to stop “birthright citizenship” in the USA.

Seeing as my previous episode is over four years old and was recorded without a microphone, I thought it would be nice to make a new episode on this topic with some extra information. I’ll borrow parts from my old episode as well as add in a lot new information!
