- Do you care whether your clothes are fashionable or comfortable?
- Are you usually able to tell whether someone is being honest or not?
- Do you think either success or failure teaches us more?
- Should either the government or individuals be responsible for the environment?

To add emphasis and show that the second idea is more surprising or important.

To express two possibilities or alternatives.

Either… or…
To show that only one of two possibilities is true or will happen.
