As a European, and a British person, I have become acutely aware that I am biased in many of my perspectives and ideas. It is natural. I grew up in the UK and studied in the European academic traditions… so I studied subjects and topics that mainly focused on the Europe.
But Europe has not always been a centre of academic excellence and study. In fact, while Europe was stuck in the Dark Ages, the Muslim world was making massive developments in science, mathematics, and medicine during a period now known as the Islamic Golden Age.
In this episode, we’re going to explore what the Islamic Golden Age really was, why it happened, some of its most famous thinkers, and the lasting legacy it left on the world!
