Summer is arriving, and Juneโ€™s Thinking in English Conversation Clubs include topics designed to help you share opinions, tell stories, discuss culture, and build real-world speaking confidence.

This month, weโ€™ll talk about success, books, travel, and the news. This is a mixture of personal, practical, and global themes that should help you practice natural conversation and meaningful discussions.

As always, every Conversation Club session is designed to help you feel prepared and confident, with:

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s coming up in June 2026.

June Conversation Club Topics

Each week, we focus on a different theme designed to encourage natural conversation, opinion sharing, and real-life English use. As always, Iโ€™ll prepare discussion questions, useful vocabulary, and example answers before each session.

Week 1: Hard Work, Success, & the American Dream

Tuesday & Thursday: June 2 & 4

We begin June with a discussion about success and opportunity.

Weโ€™ll discuss:

  • What does โ€œsuccessโ€ really mean?
  • Does hard work always lead to success?
  • What is the โ€œAmerican Dreamโ€?
  • Is success different in different cultures?

This session is perfect for practising expressing opinions, discussing social ideas, and sharing personal experiences.

Week 2:ย Letโ€™s Talk About Books

Tuesday & Thursday: June 9 & 11

Books are one of the best ways to improve your English… but what kinds of books do people actually enjoy?

Weโ€™ll discuss:

  • Favourite books and authors
  • Reading habits
  • Physical books vs ebooks vs audiobooks
  • Whether reading is becoming less popular

This should be a relaxed and conversational topic thatโ€™s great for storytelling and recommendation language.

Week 3: Travel & Wonders

Tuesday & Thursday: June 16 & 18

This week, weโ€™ll explore famous places and unforgettable travel experiences.

  • The wonders of the world
  • Dream destinations
  • Memorable travel experiences
  • The importance of tourism and cultural exchange

Perfect for descriptive language, storytelling, and sharing experiences from around the world.

Week 4: Learning English with the News

Tuesday & Thursday: June 23 & 25

We finish June with a practical topic focused on improving English through current events.

  • Why news is useful for language learning
  • How to understand difficult articles
  • Reliable vs unreliable news sources
  • The challenges of modern media

This session is ideal for practising discussion skills, summarising information, and talking about current issues in English.

Conversation Club Times (UK Time)

All Conversation Clubs run at the same weekly times:

Tuesdays & Thursdays

  • 12:00 UK time
  • 18:00 UK time
  • 24:00 UK time

You can join one session or all six each week, depending on your schedule and goals.
