Thinking in English Conversation Club BannerThinking in English Conversation Club Banner

This is the second conversation club in our IELTS speaking practice series.

IELTS is one of the most globally recognised English proficiency tests. The speaking section is split up into 3 parts, and today we will be starting with Part 2

The IELTS speaking part 2 test is different in style from part 1. In the exam, you will be given a topic card and a pencil. The topic card will have a topic and some points they want you to cover.

You will then have about a minute to plan a short speech, and then 1-2 minutes to talk about that topic. The examiner may ask you a few questions for clarification.

Obviously, we can’t replicate the exam conditions in the conversation club. Instead, I’m going to make about 10 part 2 topics, and in the club you can choose one (or more if you have time) that you’d like to talk about.

Make sure to talk for between 1 and 2 minutes (no super long or super short speech please) and the other members can obviously ask follow up questions to test you!

The Thinking in English Conversation Club takes place every TUESDAY and THURSDAY at 12pm, 6pm, and midnight UK time!

You can find more details on how to participate here – Patreon!

IMPORTANT – SCHEDULE CHANGE

I am taking a vacation from the middle of this week until the end of next week. So, there will be NO Conversation Clubs on Thursday May 1st or Tuesday May 6th.

Instead, this topic (IELTS Part 2) will be split over 2 weeks. The first sessions will be held on Tuesday April 29th. The second sessions will be held on Thursday May 8th (no midnight session).

Everything will return to normal after!
