This week the Thinking in English Conversation Club is practicing collocations. Specifically, we will practice using collocation with “become” from the academic collocations list.
Collocations occur when two or more words are often used together in a way that sounds correct. They are not always obvious, and there are no fixed rules. Collocations are one of the big challenges that face non-native English speakers and English learners.
This week we will be looking at collocations formed with “become”: become widespread, become apparent, become the focus of, and more.
Let’s practice these collocations by answering and asking lots of questions, and speaking with other Thinking in English listeners!
Here are some conversation questions to get you talking!
The Thinking in English Conversation Club takes place every TUESDAY and THURSDAY at 12pm, 6pm, and midnight UK time!
You can find more details on how to participate here – Patreon!
