Other Wonders of the World (Bonus Episode)

Earlier this week, on the main episode of Thinking in English, we looked at the New Seven Wonders of the World. This is the modern list created through a huge global vote in the 2000s.

A few years ago, I also made an episode about the Ancient Wonders, the original classical list created thousands of years ago by Greek writers and travellers.

But these aren’t the only versions of the “Seven Wonders” list.

Over the years, people have created all kinds of alternatives. So today, I thought it would be fun to look at two lesser-known versions of the Wonders of the World.

First, we’ll explore the Seven Modern Engineering Wonders… massive construction projects and technological achievements that completely changed human society.

Then, we’ll look at the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, which are incredible places created by nature.

And while you’re listening, maybe you can think about whether the human-made or natural wonders are more impressive.
