This week the Thinking in English Community is talking about the United States!
The United States is one of the world’s most influential countries.This year also marks the 250th anniversary of the United States, making it a great time to think about its history, influence, and future.
This conversation club is inspired by the recent Thinking in English episode exploring 250 years of the United States, and will give you the chance to discuss American culture, global influence, stereotypes, and your own experiences and opinions. Whether you’ve visited the US or only know it through films and the news, everyone has something to share!

- Have you ever been to the United States? Would you like to visit the US?
- What is the first thing you think of when you hear “the USA”?
- How has US culture influenced your country?
- What stereotypes do you have about people from the US?
- Why do so many people want to study or work in the United States?
- Why has the United States had such a big influence on the world?
- Has your opinion of the United States changed over time?
- What can other countries learn from the US? What do you think the US can learn from other countries?
- What do you think the United States will be like 250 years from now?
