This week the Thinking in English Community is talking about planning your ideal vacation or holiday!
Travelling is a great way to experience new cultures, try different foods, and create memories. Everyone has their own idea of the perfect trip. Some people (like me) prefer to relax and spend most of their time eating new food, while others want a more active vacation.
In this conversation club, we’ll discuss our dream destinations, favourite travel experiences, and what makes a holiday truly special. You’ll also have the chance to practice talking about places, activities, preferences, and future travel plans in English.
Here are 10 conversation questions to get you talking about your ideal vacation, dream destinations, and the adventures you would like to experience!
The Thinking in English Conversation Club takes place every TUESDAY and THURSDAY at 12pm, 6pm, and 24pm UK time!

Conversation Questions:
- Do you enjoy traveling? Why or why not?
- Do you prefer mountains, beaches, forests, deserts, or cities?
- What was your last vacation like?
- If money wasn’t a problem, where would you go for your next trip?
- How long would your perfect holiday last?
- What activities would you like to do on your ideal vacation?
- What food would you like to try?
- Would you rather visit one country for a month or five countries in a month?
- What makes a holiday truly memorable?

Vocabulary
- Vacation (Noun): A period of time spent travelling or relaxing away from work or school.
- Holiday (Noun): A trip taken for pleasure or relaxation.
- Perfect holiday (Noun Phrase): An ideal vacation that matches your preferences.
- Memorable (Adjective): Worth remembering because it is special or enjoyable.
- Ideal (Adjective): The best possible or most suitable.
- Activity (Noun): Something you do for enjoyment or a particular purpose.
- Prefer (Verb): To like one thing more than another.
- Desert (Noun): A very dry area of land with little rain and few plants.
- Money wasn’t a problem (Phrase): Having enough money to do anything you want.
- Rather than (Phrase): Used to show a preference between two choices.
- Last (Verb): To continue for a particular period of time.
