When you hear the word justice, what comes to mind?
Do you immediately think of courts, laws, and judges? Or do you think of fairness, morality, and how people are treated in everyday life?
The truth is, justice is a word with a wide range of meanings. It can describe legal systems, moral responsibility, social equality, and sometimes international relations.
And across history and across cultures, justice has been widely regarded as one of the most important values.
In today’s episode, I want to explore the idea of justice. I will look perspectives at history, law, politics, society, and philosophy.
But I also have a second purpose. I want to introduce you to a wide range of collocations with the word wide or widely. A collocation is simply two or more words that are commonly used together in English and learning them will make your language sound much more natural.
Throughout the episode, I’ll use as many of these “wide” collocations as possible in context. Then, at the end of the episode, I’ll give you a clear list of every collocation I used so you can review and practice them yourself.
