Frankenstein (2025)
Here is a simple description of the film
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein (Netflix, 2025) retells Mary Shelley’s novel. The film combines dark visual style with emotional storytelling, showing how science and obsession can cross moral boundaries.
The plot follows a young scientist who, scarred by loss, tries to overcome death by creating life. His experiment produces an unnatural being, rejected and abandoned. This act begins a cycle of suffering, revenge, and destruction that consumes both creator and creation.
The film explores themes of monstrosity, humanity, and hubris, asking whether true horror lies in the unnatural being or in human arrogance. It also reflects on loneliness, identity, and the ethics of science. It’s a classic tale and a meditation on responsibility and the human condition.
… and it’s available on Netflix everywhere!
