Time Idioms!
Let’s learn some useful idioms using the word ‘time’!
Stand the test of time
If something ‘stands the test of time’ it continues to be used for a long time in the future
“The music of Mozart has really stood the test of time”
Time is on your side
If you have a lot of time to do something, then ‘time is on your side’
“Don’t panic about being late due to traffic – you left early so time is on your side”
Time to kill
If you have some extra or free time that you can do anything with, especially while waiting, you have ‘time to kill’
“I have some time to kill this afternoon- do you want to catch a movie?”
